Collection: TONG TOASTER

Italy's beloved café-quality tong toaster is a toaster and so much more. It is perfect for fast and crunchy toasties or any thinly-sliced foods you love!

This Milantoast appliance was originally developed for the fast Italian “pancarrè” lunch, of thinly sliced bread, prosciutto (thinly sliced ham) and Provelone cheese. (If you like toasties thicker than 3cm, our cast-iron grills might be a better choice for you).

They feature two independent ovens with independent timers, so you can re-heat sliced sausage in one slot and toast in the other. Food splash simply slides off the heavy-duty, food-safe mica elements into the drip tray for daily cleaning in the dishwasher.

They can even re-heat pizza in a couple of minutes, and it won't go soggy like in the microwave!

Food is secured in the spring-loaded tongs, which are also dishwasher-safe for easy cleaning. The tongs with cool-touch handles are also a great advantage for people with accessibility issues or who have trouble with fine motor skills.

WHAT'S DIFFERENT ABOUT MILANTOAST?

  • Better versatility

Have you ever thought about putting last night’s pizza or schnitzel in the toaster for a quick breakfast? With the tong toaster you can make toast and so much more. You are only limited by your imagination and the width of the tongs which can hold 3 cm maximum. Food splash simply runs down the mica stone protecting the elements into the crumb tray which can be washed daily in the dishwasher.

  • Better crunch

Milantoast tong toasters are designed for a better crunch. The inside of the toaster is like two mini-ovens with four independent elements to ensure each side of your bread is treated equally, whether you’re toasting one slice or two.

Milantoasters gently re-bake your bread through, while drying the outer crust. This is a process which can’t be rushed, but Milantoast has calculated the optimum temperature and time for the job, and you have the control to adjust the timer for toast exactly the way you like it.

  • Better elements

Milantoast has uniquely designed elements which can be replaced if necessary, however these elements are ingeniously designed to last longer. The continuous nickel-chromium flat wire is affixed to micanite board on the facing side and is protected by pure, natural mica stone.

Mica stone is a natural material which looks like the thinnest sheet of glass. It’s completely food-safe, can withstand high temperatures and protects the elements from jagged bits of toast. Food slides off into the crumb tray below, keeping the elements clean for a longer life.

  • Better materials

Polished cast aluminium, anodised aluminium and stainless steel are all recyclable materials which Milantoast sources locally. Milantoast has long-standing relationships with the Italian foundries ensuring the highest quality product. It’s this intimate knowledge of every supplier in the supply chain and the trust and integrity of suppliers that keeps production standards high.

  • Better energy efficiency

Did you know that most 2-slice toasters only have three elements? The middle element is shared, so is usually amped up on power and is why one side of your toast is darker when you toast one slice.

Milantoast toasters are different. They have four independent elements, so when you toast one slice, you only use 50% power – as it should be! Other toasters use between 75% power for one slice. When it comes to energy savings, every slice counts!

  • Better for the environment

Milantoast original toasters are manufactured from the recycled alloy EN46100, which is foundered from scrap metal. This is so much better for our environment in many ways. To produce 1Kg of aluminium from the mined mineral bauxite, it takes 14KW to process. To produce 1Kg of aluminium from scrap, it takes only 0.7KW to process. Recycling aluminium saves 95% of the energy needed to produce it from the mineral.

In addition, using recycled aluminium reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 95%. It represents a significant reduction in the environmental impact of mining activity, and reduces the resources, chemicals and clean water used in processing. Plus, aluminium is able to be 100% recycled over and over, while maintaining its quality.
